Update - Protest done - Hi Everyon
by LouBelle ini have been rather scarce i know, i've been so very busy with work that i don't really have much time to log on, and we had someone come into our home and steal our laptop, so haven't been able to log on at home either.. work is still going very well.
it's not easy cold selling, but i've had a good few ads come in and keep me ticking over.
every now and again i pop because i simply don't know what else management want me to do, i'm doing everything i can.

Got Accosted by 2 JW Women While Pumping Gas Yesterday - Weird
by flipper inabsolutely weird.
minding my own business while pumping gas - this 60 year old short jw lady with fluffed bun styled 60's hair and her 30 year old attractive 5 ' 10 inch jw lady partner came straight up to me as i'm pumping.
they picked the wrong hombre .

Do you detect an underlying sadness ?
by Phizzy inwhenever i talk to jw's, and even in some of the jw official videos, i detect a definite vibe of sadness coming off these people.. i am very sensitive to "atmospheres" and to peoples emotional state, you wouldn't think so, because more often than not i do not react to what i detect, i just let people get on with it.. but i do get this feeling that they are sad, probably because very, very, very deep down they realise that it is all false, maybe ?.

My parents are in their late 50's and one was a born an optimist; the other a pessimist. I truly feel the pessimist has worn off, based on their WT belief system. My parents cannot believe the system has lasted this long and have become bitter and judgmental. Oh, and yet they think it's somehow all their fault they don't feel they measure up, by JW standards. Thanks, WT!

Am I in a "cool hall " or what?

me and the wife go to a hall that is pretty "hands off".
i have not really been out in service for probably 1.5 years and my wife has went out maybe 3 times in the last year.

As for the RBC, I'm not sure who checks the stats, but I've been inactive most of the year and just had two email invites in the past week for a project in the next town.
Funny how much has changed in two years. Back then I was giddy about getting my RBC assignment and couldn't wait to volunteer my time.
Each hall is different.

I just watched it and when once your eyes have been opened you can laugh at how utterly ridiculous this film is.
My teenager heard a short portion from the other room and thought it was an SNL spoof of a JW life. I had to show her it was legitimate.
I think it's worth watching just to recognize the logical fallacies and cognitive dissonance in action. My daughter is going to watch it this weekend when I'm out of town and then we are going to point out the logical fallacies (still learning :)
